Peale-Positive Thinking- Self-hypnosis

Norman Vincent Peale was a 33° Scottish Rite Freemason. His famous book, The Power of Positive Thinking, came under criticism from several mental health experts. One major criticism is that the book is full of anecdotes that are hard to substantiate. A second major accusation is that he attempted to conceal that his techniques for giving the reader absolute self-confidence and deliverance from suffering are a well known form of hypnosis, and that he attempts to persuade his readers to follow his beliefs through a combination of false evidence and self-hypnosis (autosuggestion. One author called Peale's book "The Bible of American autohypnotism.".[3]:264https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Norman_Vincent_Peale  - see D4 par 4.1.5.3- Dr Lipton: The problem with the concept of power thinking is people’s belief that by thinking positively then my life should be affected. Having a positive thought does not in any way necessitate that those positive thoughts actually manifest themselves.
